I know pretty much everyone with an ounce of ability to mesh objects or whatever that's called (I couldn't do anything to save my life) or make poses or do anything involving better improving their Sims 3 experience has a lot on their plate right now and a lot of projects - I may or may not have been lurking. Anyways, I just had a question about saddle pads. I don't know how this whole slot thing works in CAS, but the only types of saddle pads we've seen thus far are the squared saddle pads. And only one of them. Riders know this, but sometimes, more than one pad is used. So, question, is it possible to er, make or mesh or something a more shaped pad ( here) underneath a square pad? Or make just a regular ol' shaped pad by itself? I don't know if that's a complicated task or it cannot be done at all - I really don't know anything about this stuff. It's just an inquiry and maybe a future request. Heh. Ok.

Probably, but the thing is, the saddle pads in sims, from the experience I've had with them anyway, are straight out textures. Like markings are, so to make some like that or a riser, would probably involve making a mesh from scratch. Which from my work on the rug, is incredibly frustrating lol, but maybe someone with more experience would find it easy? I'd personally love better saddle pads too!

I would honestly be happy even with one that isn't meshed. I just would like one to have a bit of a different look and to possibly layer with the larger square pads since that's why I use in RL.

I think it would be great to have a saddlepad like this. I shall look into making one today, hope it works.

Like Lily, I use the layered depending on if the horse uses two pads in RL, but on the horse I normally ride (who uses one pad), I use the shaped pads.
Ann - It would be awesome to just check out if this is possible! I think it would add more realism if someone took a crack at it!

I think this would be a fabulous idea!! I have actually been thinking how cool it would be to have sheepskin halfpads and the like.. but I am pretty sure that also requires a new mesh. They have something LIKE a half pad in the game already but it's not quite my style, haha.

The look of fleece or sheepskin would be nice, but honestly I'd rather have just a shaped pad that fit the English saddles.

How about a square show pad with actual PIPING (not just the border edge) that has a number card on one side? Swallowtail Dressage pad with piping:

^ I like that too. Just something more detailed and shaped eventually! I would love the variety that it would add.
