A guide to making meshes for tack?

So I know how to use some programs like Maya (and sort of blender), but I don't know how I would exactly get meshes to work as meshes, and how to texture them and get them into my game. I looked on the blackboard for some information regarding this, but I was unable to find a guide for what Im looking to do. Any help? Ill need something thats fairly detailed as Im unsure of pretty much the entire process...
