Okay, this is what I need. I need a random number generator, BUT I need to be able to assign each number a percentage (based on likelihood) of it being chosen in order to get a more realistic randomized process when it comes to my genetics calculations.
FOR EXAMPLE: the foal could be: 1. Black 50% 2. Chestnut 25% 3. Bay 10% 4. Grulla 65%
I need to be able to enter in 1-4, but also enter the correlating percentages(chances) of that number being chosen. Does anyone know where I can find a program to do this ._.

I know a good one, but it doesn't operate exactly how you asked for. You simply put in the genetics of both mum and dad and then it calculates the odds of certain genetics being found in the foal. It does not however choose one for you, but you can always roll dice? The nice thing about this one, is it gives you the probability of the possible outcomes as well as illustrations of what the horse could look like. The calculator gives you the choice of the following genetic options: EXTENSION & AGOUTI -Extension -Agouti GREY -Grey DILUTIONS -Cream/Pearl -Dun -Champagne -Silver WHITE PATTERNS -KIT Genes (Sabino, Dominant White, Roan, Tobiano, Sabino) -Frame -Splash -Appaloosa (Leopard, Small & Large Patterns) Genetics Calculator Link: colorgenetics.info/equine/content/foal-coat-color-calculator

@north Wood Stables: After extensive searching, it looks like I'll have to do it that way >.< Fethre: Yeah, I use one that is similar that calculates the exact percentage of each possible color. I don't like dice because it's all at equal odds xD

I use a similar foal coat calculator, mine is from an actual horse genetics testing site www.animalgenetics.us/CCalculator1.asp they have 57 coat color options and 14 marking options plus a check box if the horse was grey/greyed out. the only color, that I know of, not in the list is Brown/seal but they specifically say you can use chestnut as it will have a same or similar result to brown/seal. the more you know on genetics the more accurate it is, as well as the more you know about the sire/dam. they will also ask you for stuff like if he/she is a red carrier, if some markings are heterozygous or homozygous(sp?) if you don't know you can just say unkown. and the results include the foals phenotype code and the percentages that particular foal will be born. hope you find it helpful
