Let us delve into the past and present of Katy Walsh. She’s an open book, really.
Katy was born and raised in Appaloosa Plains by Isaac and Marie Walsh, but she doesn’t talk to them anymore. It’s a long story, but the short version tells of them being a bit too over-protective and just a smidge smothering. So, at the age of sixteen, the brunette packed up what belongings she could fit in a duffel bag, grabbed the wad of cash sitting on her dresser, and headed for greener pastures. >>It was rough. No parents to provide food, shelter, clothes. But she worked; odds jobs from a temp agency kept money flowing in. It had been a year that she’d been on her own when she ran into Laurie. Laurie owned Chase Hill Farm in Riverview. It was a horse farm with about eight horses – all of which Katy was completely terrified of at first. Laurie offered her a gig; work for a home. The seventeen year old knew absolutely nothing about horses and what it took to care for them, but she accepted the offer. What did she have to lose? The answer was nothing. Laurie taught her everything she knew about equine care and even, Michelle, the certified riding instructor at the farm, taught Katy to ride. The Chase Hill people became her family. >>Years later Katy’s done well for herself. Her property's not as big as Chase Hill, but there’s enough room to house her and her animals, she makes decent money, and the best part about it is that she did it all herself.
