Well, we have two new boarders! Meet Bianca & Ariane! They are being boarded at NSS by their owner who owns HarasDelrio. We'll be taking care of them and doing some training with them. They are both very well behaved and a great asset to our stables. Leading them off the trailer..... We put them in the round pen so they could get use to their new home without the stress of the other horses. Lunch time! Playing In their stalls...... Relaxing in the meadow!

Lots has been going on at the barn lately. Lots of renovations going on. Liam's been busy working, so he took some time off to hang out with Josh. He had a huge surprise for Amy. She's been very interested in learning to ride Western, but needs a horse who's "Been there, done that." to teach her. Well, I found the perfect mount for her. Yes, the one and only SCS Mr Darcy! I'm leasing him from Smart Color Stables. I never told Amy about this, just told her to go and close up the barn for the night. She was shocked when she saw Darcy in one of the stalls. She was beyond excited! She couldn't wait, and needed to take a lesson on him right away. Amy is an english rider, and it's her first time learning about Western Pleasure, Reining & Gymkhana. Darcy is the perfect teacher, so tolerant and patient with her. Especially when she needs to learn to give more rein. She's use to short reins and high heads, but Darcy is very tolerant and patient with her. She's a little clumsy handling split reins, but she'll get there. I also had to teach her the mechanics of a leverage bit, but she's very gentle. First slide! Her seat was sloppy, but that's expected for a first time. Darcy was flawless. It was chilly and they both worked up a bit of a sweat so it was time to cool down. Amy is so excited to do some more riding tomorrow!

Well, It's the time of year when I rotate my horses. My lesson horses, who've worked hard since September have been put out to pasture. The summer camp horses are being brought back to the stables, will be refreshed and tuned up before we commence the winter riding program. (I may use seasons in the future, I installed it but it makes my game lag so much it's unbearable, but I'll probably do some tweaking and try again later on.) Here's the first pony I brought back. This is CR Forks Eye AKA Fair. She's a grade pony and did fantastic at the summer camp. However, she's been off work for 3 months so she wasn't too keen on getting back in the swing of things. Here mane had grown out, so I decided to pull it a bit. Here's the shortened version. I don't like clipping my ponies right down. Brought her to the round pen and did some desensitizing to make sure she wasn't skiddish. I applied pressure to her back, and she was just annoyed by that. Yeah, I know, this pony makes my butt look big. I wasn't going to risk putting one of the kids on her first. Luckily she was pretty well behaved. I decided to bring her into the indoor now. She started kicking her heels up a bit here. ] Canter! Little jump! I might get one of my advanced kids to start her over cross rails. She's an awesome pony!
