Lotte was born in Oslo, Norway, and lived an uneventful life there until she moved to Canada at the age of four. When she moved to Canada, she took up dance classes. She loved dancing more than life itself, and started competing when she was 8. Around that time, her father, who was a landlord, bought up a friend's Standardbred breeding farm. Lotte became fascinated with the horses, and that fascination continued throughout her teenage years. When she turned 20, the small Standardbred farm had turned into Willowdale Equestrian Center, and included three other breeds in its programs. Lotte's father had grown bored with the breeding of horses, and wanted to explore other endeavors. But Lotte refused to let him sell Willowdale, and decided that she would take it off his hands. That's how Lotte became the owner of the large Willowdale Equestrian Center.
