The trailer finally crunched into the Sennengate's yard, where everyone had been waiting for the last half an hour. The tyres screeched to a halt, causing the terrified beast in the trailer to scream. Emily Sennengate walked quietly up to the trailer, and peered inside.
What she saw was what she described as unimaginable. There in front of her, was the horse of he dreams. A purebred wild Mustang. The beautiful Blood Bay mare kicked at the door behind her, trying to escape.
"Hey beauty, you know you won't be getting out of there anytime soon!" She laughed.
The mare instantly quietened when she heard the young girl's voice, as if she understood what she was saying.
"Are you a wild mustang, are you? Dad says you were imported all the way from the United States!"
"EMILY! Get down from there. That beast there is dangerous!" Her dad barked, red in the face.
"But..."
"No buts. Get down. She's a wild horse Emily, she could hurt you"
"Da-"
"GO!"
Emily reluctantly slipped down from the trailer's side.
'It's not fair' she thought to herself. Emily plodded away slowly, upset that she'd been scolded by her much loved father.
She went and sulked in her bedroom for a while, but realised that by now the mare might've calmed down and they might be unloading her. She rushed to the window, placing her soggy hands on the curtains. Emily rushed downstairs, she didn't want to miss a thing. They had brought her 12.2 Welsh pony out to help settle the mare, but she would not calm down. The mare made even more of a fuss when they tried to put a lead rope on her- she threw back her head and cried.
She knew this wasn't her home. She felt homesick. She missed her foal terribly. At the sight of Emily, 'Bella' (as they'd decided to call the mare) , froze. She just stood there stock still until Emily came closer. They tried to force her out of the trailer but she would not budge. They tried coaxing her. They tried tempting her with fresh hay. But Bella wouldn't move. Their last option was to give her a smack with the whip, an as they did so her legs gave way and she fell to the ground.
"Oh No!" Emily shouted.
"Don't wo-" but before he could finish his sentence, Bella lifted herself off the ground and began to sprint at full speed towards the house.
"That mare is going to kill herself!" He cried, grabbing his bike to try and catch up with Bella.
She wasn't showing any signs of wanting to stop.
