I love this story. ♥ I haven't been on Tumblr much lately, but I've been stalking this a little bit - it's so cute and wonderful and gah. Morning Smoke is beautiful as well - looking forward to seeing Rena meet her for the first time, omg.

Wow, she's so classy. Hmmm, I wonder what happend to Terry... I'm not sure I'll touch on it in the story but I'm hoping I can. Just depends on how the story plays out, I only plan ahead by 2-3 entries at a time, haha. Ah, I'm so proud of Morning Smoke, honestly, I wish I had kept her now I for myself think she grew up very well. Oh well, she's in good hands with Rena (and Terry) I'm sure of that. I have no idea what Sven and Terry are talking about, does the best (errh, only) horse trainer I have yet hide any secrets from me? Well, actually I shouldn't even know what they talk so forget that I can't wait to see how Rena reacts to Morning Smoke and I can't wait to see how Morning Smoke reacts to her, I'm following this story with more excitement than I have with writing my own I hope Rena will like her. The interesting thing is, that I use the same blue halters at Marigold Acres for all Stallions and Geldings... What I wonder now is what will happen to Dapple and what you meant with "Incident". I hope nothing bad happens to both Rena and the lovable grey mare. And, another question, will we see the bad girls again or is Rena safe from them? I hatte those snobby girls, they exist at nearly every riding academy and they're the reason why I stopped riding and didn't began with it again. I'm still way too afraid to search a new riding academy but on the other hand, there's nothing I miss as much as sitting on the back of a horse. Ok, I hope that counts as long comment Haha, I had to figure out a way to get Sven introduced into the story so I figured the easiest (and perhaps more realistic way) was to suggest that he and Terry knew each other years ago. Made for a more interesting story, since I figured there was no way they could normally afford to find a premium quality Oldenburg and buy her. But the incident already happened, and it consisted of two parts: Rena seeing somebody else riding Dapple, which was like her security blanket and kept her anxiety at bay but then also the snobby girls making fun of her which ruined the calm, peaceful riding environment that she had previously had. And you'll probably see them again, unfortunately. I imagine they might encounter her at a competition with the horses they ride for lessons but you'll have to wait and see, heh I love this story. ♥ I haven't been on Tumblr much lately, but I've been stalking this a little bit - it's so cute and wonderful and gah. Morning Smoke is beautiful as well - looking forward to seeing Rena meet her for the first time, omg. And thank you! I'll probably have an update on Monday, maybe today, depends on if I have to take some pictures

Ah, for me an Incident (stupid me >.< That's called an accident) is when somebody falls off of a horse or gets hit by a car or something like that. I might have missunderstood the word a bit. But I can understand that this is hard for Rena to see. Once when I was small I had my favourite pony at my stable, a fleabitten grey little mare and one day someone walked up to me giving her a treat and said "This is MY favourite pony! Go off and leave her alone!" This was like, breaking my heart and not because I was overemotional but because I was... Kinda shocked and pulled out of my dreams. Hard to explain, but I went off, hide myself in the tack room and cried untill my father came to get me. I was never riding that pony again and I'm still regretting it. So if I could talk to Rena, I'd tell her this. Well, you didn't HAVE to include Sven, he was just there if you needed him But yes, it's true, if we imagine all this was real a horse from Marigold Acres wouldn't be the cheapest. Nah, at least then Rena could laugh at them of not having their own horse

Nah, at least then Rena could laugh at them of not having their own horse Even if the stories are sad, I like reading about people who can relate to Rena. That's my goal with her, she isn't meant to be extraordinary or anything, she's meant to be human (or as human as you can get with a virtual character). Sven might be around for a little bit longer as he helps Rena get acquainted with the new horse, since I figure he'd know the most because he works at the stable where she came from but he'll be phased out eventually, haha. But, a new update today!
It had been an overall average day at school. Too many people for her liking, but she just had to bear it. There wasn’t much grinning involved in that.
Stepping off the bus, she shuffled along as she headed to the house before a movement caught her eye. Raising her head, she saw a horse? No, that wasn’t possible. But there it was, chewing grass like nobody’s business. It was at that moment that she also noticed her dad and somebody standing next to him. Who kind of looked like him.
Walking over to them, she opened her mouth to speak but Terry beat her to it.
“This is Sven Jorensen, he’s an old friend of mine and he trains horses for a living,”
He explained, knowing full well that Rena hadn’t planned on asking who that was, but rather…
“Whose horse is that?”
She asked, her voice soft as she stepped through the gate and into the shaded area of the trees to stand next to them. Sven and Terry exchanged a quick glance before Sven stepped forward to stand next to the horse.
“She’s yours, if you want her,”
Rena froze, her hands trembling but her mind was laughing. Nobody would just let her have a horse. Why should she? She wasn’t special, nobody in their right mind would just let her have a horse.
Sven had stepped forward and clucked his tongue lightly to get the filly’s attention. Then he pushed her forward gently, encouragingly.
Her hand moved of its own volition and stretched out to the filly, who lowered her head obediently and sniffed it. Rena could feel the little hairs tickling her hand and her eyes widened. Oh god, she was really real.
“Are you… I mean… I just… really?!”
Her voice squeaked as she turned her wide-eyed gaze onto her father, who just nodded with a smile. She managed to tear herself away long enough to rush to her father and almost knock him over as her arms wrapped around him tightly. Her face buried into his chest and he held her lightly before grabbing her and spinning her around lightly, laughing.
“You deserve her.”
And because I had some leftover photos from my entry with Rena in the show, I decided I'd post them here. They were ones I decided not to use, for various reasons. Forgot to mention it in the entry, if I remember it later (have to leave now) then I'll edit it in but the lot isn't made by me, I downloaded it from Riddermark :]

Oooh, I love it! What a nicely written story. I can really relate to Rena when she was supposed to ride Dapple and was kind of upset that she wasn't. And hm, we got some drama girls now, huh. ;D Interesting.

Rena’s Diary: Entry 9
I have a horse! My very own horse! I haven’t been able to sleep at all, I’ve been so excited and I can’t concentrate in school and that’s probably not a good idea but she’s mine and I just have to fill out her papers!
Which is a whole task in and of itself, by the way. The basic information like her name (MAE Morning Smoke) or her breed (Oldenburg) is easy, but then they ask me to describe how she fits the breed standard (which is pretty vague) and how she’s an asset to the breed and I get stuck. I’ve spent my days watching her and trying to fill out the papers.
Right now I’ve got this written down: “I believe that MAE Morning Smoke fits the standard quite well. She’s got powerful hindquarters, as showcased in the attached photos, and her gait reflects that power in those hindquarters. She’s got a nicely shaped head with pricked ears and overall just exhibits the power and beauty of the Oldenburg breed.”
Seems fine, I guess. Words can’t describe her though, she’s perfect. I haven’t ridden her yet, she’s so much taller than Dapple and intimidates me a bit but Sven said I can give it a shot with him later. Sven’s the one that dropped her off here. Also, she doesn’t have a barn name.
I’ve been spending time with her to try to pick a proper barn name for her and so far nothing. I need something to call her!
Diary, if you have any ideas then let me know because it’s frustrating to not be able to just call her something, anything! Right now she’s just ‘the filly’ :c
Night!
If anybody would like to suggest any names for the filly, I'm open. I had a few I liked (Emery, Meri, Merle, Charna) but I'm really stuck and I'd love to give a barn name, haha.

Looking forward to see more of Rena and her new girl. As for barn names, what about Dawn or Aurora? They both kind of jumped out at me when I was thinking about it.

I'm glad Rena inspires you, haha. Apologize for no update yesterday, had a really bad headache (presumably from the TB test) so I couldn't concentrate much and I didn't want to put in half the effort so I decided to just not update. Had to plan out the next few updates to coincide with a show I entered Rena in so my friend helped me out with that too, heh. Here's today's update. Still no barn name for the filly, haven't found one I really, really like, haha.
“Alright, let’s give it a try,”
Sven said encouragingly as Rena stood, looking doubtfully at the filly. Dapple had been about 14.2hh and the filly was at least 17hh, maybe even taller. Sven tilted his head and gestured to the filly.
“Come on, you’ll never know if you don’t try. I’ll be right here, leading you two,”
Rena nodded, just barely, before approaching the filly. Reaching up, she flung her arms over the back of the filly before she dug her nails into the saddle before slipping her foot into the stirrup and hauling herself up. It wasn’t graceful, but Rena never was.
She settled herself into the saddle, still not quite used to how smooth the english saddle was compared to western. Gripping the reins, the filly stood patiently as she waited for a command.
“Alright, you ready?”
Rena nodded just once before Sven clicked his tongue and the filly started to move forward, switching smoothly in a trot as Sven jogged to keep up with them, the filly’s long strides carrying them effortlessly.
Meanwhile, Rena bobbed with a terrified look on her face. The ground seemed a lot further down now.
***
“You’re doing a lot better now,”
Sven called out as Rena rounded the corner, decked out in her usual lesson gear. After the first attempt, Rena practiced more flat work with the filly but they still had a ways to go. Either way, here she was, headed to the training grounds with Sven.
“I feel… comfortable,”
Rena murmured quietly, more to herself than anything but when she looked up at Sven, he flashed her a wink to acknowledge that he had heard her. She lowered her gaze again, fingers tangling in the filly’s short mane.
“So, should we keep practicing?’
Sven asked, glancing up and Rena flashed a quick smile before tilting her head.
“Definitely.”

I have a feeling that later on in the story she'll buy Dapple!
