I have to start this from her pre teen years, as before that is unspeakable. Either that, or she can't remember it. Just as well she can't, i certainly wouldn't.
A mother that doesn't want her, a father who makes rash decisions and far too many mistakes. She spent most of her childhood living with aunties, cousins, nans. The good parts, however, before her mother turned sour, were full of horses. This was the inevitable, being an Irish family. Her earliest memory as i recall, is that of a big brown saddle sitting on the lounge floor, and her trying to clamber onto it. Got the right idea early? suppose she did.
Her mother left her. The horses never did. She left her outside her fathers taxi base, with a family friend, Joe, without saying anything. Only, "i cant do it anymore." Can't do what? love your child? was she unlovable? was there something wrong with her?
Despite the issues, and many more i daren't begin to explain, she moved on. She got over it, and focused on the one thing in life that really mattered.
Her mother, was placed in Bridgeport sanitarium. Her father still lives in sunset valley. When she turned 18, Paige decided to up stakes and move to twinbrook, There she met Hannah, and started up her own draughts stable. It ran smoothly for a while, obtaining a new staff member, Ethan, and around the same time Hannah announced she was moving to starlight shores to find her place in the music industry.
Things went downhill from here. A fire broke out. Not a little, poncy one. The barn went up in flames. They lost 3 horses that day - Ollie, Axel and lucky. The were closest to the source of the fire. Paige was devastated, Ethan distraught. He had left the cooker on, and the window open; he was filling up his car with petrol outside. The fumes ignited the fire.
With such a loss, they had no choice but to sell the grand estate, and move into a smaller lot. Ethan, feeling guilty, fixed up the distraught looking new stables, landscaping to the best of his abilities (which weren't very good..) and put in a "round pen".
Paige is now at ease. She's back to her happy go lucky self, a little sharp at times, but none the less a cheerful woman. Lets see how long this lasts, eh?
