I really feel jousting (not only for your medieval Sims, but as a sport) is very overlooked. I’ve been searching high and low to complete my Sims and horses for my beloved hobby. So if anyone could help sharing some helpful finds I would be most grateful. I’m mainly looking for…

Accessories for Sims:

A Lance
In the past I used RoseSims lance for TS2, but there is no TS3 version. I e-mailed Rose already to request a conversion, but there came no reply. So if you know a place to download a lance or are willing to convert it, don’t be shy to share it.

A spear
Just a simple spear will do. Nothing fancy, just a wooden pole with a spiky end.

Swords, bows, polearms etc etc

Accessories for Horses:

Medieval Tack
I was thinking, since horse blankets, race masks, that beautiful Arabian halter and custom saddles and bridles can be made, Medieval horse attire must be possible too. Mainly I’m looking for:

- Flagged reins
- Medieval full body saddle blanket
- Baroque and/or Australian stock saddles

I’m pretty sure none has been made yet, but if you’re a (bored) creator and feel up for a challenge…well you get the hint.

Objects:

Targets
Any jousters needs to aim at something and just spearing those poor hay bales isn’t enough. I would like to find more targets like:

- An archery target [example]
- Something for ring jousting (or an object that looks like it and can substitute) [example]
- A Quintain a.k.a. jousting dummy (or an object that looks like it and can substitute) [example]

Poses:

Any pose that can be used to suggest the act of jousting or other acts of Cavalry riding. Even better would be new poses that really are made for jousting. Like using a lance on a opponent, or spearing something on the ground and of course knocking someone of a horse and falling. O, and I already use all the poses from Old Fellow Ranch. They are brilliant, but sadly enough not all are adequate for jousting.

Pose examples:
- General Jousting [1]
- Ring jousting [1]
- Target Practise [1]
- Spearing something [1] [2]
- Knocking someone and/or falling out of the saddle [1]
- Striking something with a sword while running [1] [2]

I know this has become a long list and probably not many people will support me in my WCIF quest, but I had to try. And I hope any fellow jouster, Bajutsu-ka or European Medieval Cavalry rider will support my plead for this overlooked equine discipline. And if you never tried jousting/cavalry, you should give it a go. It’s fun and exciting ^_^

I'm sure the OP is aware of how difficult this would be, but that is why they have posted this as a place for others with an interest to both share their content and content they find, at the same time as asking for some help in finding or making things.

Anyway, @majin, I'm not really interested in the medieval stuff, but I can see the attraction! So unfortunately I can't help out with links and things, but what I will do is sticky this so that anyone who comes here can see your links and hopefully share theirs!

Aye, dear Werkz I do know how hard it is. I’ve attempted quite a lot of meshing/creating for Sims 2, but I always got stuck with the UV-mapping, texturing and things just not turning up (well enough) in-game. And the objects I did get to work in-game I never dared to share, because of my poor craftsmanship. I would feel ashamed to share something, if even I think it sucks. Specially because there are people in the community who like to point out the obvious. If I know a creation is bad, I don’t need someone else to comment (in a negative, unfriendly or arrogant way ) on how bad it really is. And this is not being afraid of critique, but just knowing the worth of your own work.
But as we speak I’m doing research on how to create for Sims 3, because I don’t want to be lazy and at least try to contribute some work. And so far I’ve learned it’s not going to be easy and first of all I need to learn how to use other meshing programs then just Wings 3D. I’m specially not looking forward to that, but I’ll have to. And since I’m a very slow learner with these things, don’t expect any creations any time soon. I’m better at old-fashioned drawing things on paper

I really wasn’t expecting any reactions or interest at all, so you’ve made me very happy already. And it just registered at Equus 2.0, but I don't believe I’m (already) able or aloud to post anything yet. And I want my stable to be near perfect before I share anything in my scrapbook. I will add some small previews, but they are just practising pic’s.



Also thank you for the sticky, because I’m really trying a serious attempt to contribute not only for myself but others who might be (or get) interested in something else then just dressage and/or jumping.

Love this!! I have been waiting for someone to take the Skyrim horse armor and convert it; I am totally clueless on how to make objects for the Sims (1-3) and when Medieval came out I was hoping they had horses

Make sure you do everything correctly. They won't send out any emails so you have to check back in a few hours with the login information you tried. For the site I did for my username was my ranch name Black Knight Ranch. make sure your pictures they ask for are correctly sized to how they say. as far as the forum, you have to register as a real name. It can't be like a username like how yours is. You can use one of your character names or a random made up human name.
