Black Rock Stables
About Us
Owner(s)• Alexis Martingale, Lea Nickerson
Services • Breeding, Training, Sales
Biography
When Alexis was seven, her parents moved herself and her older sister Lea into an old farmhouse in nearly-vacant Willow Harbour. There, the two girls watched from the sidelines as their parents constructed an equine empire from the brittle foundations. In a few short years the facility went from a single parcel with three stalls to hundreds of acres and dozens of stalls. But when Alexis turned eighteen, from a fatal accident she became an orphan. She and Lea turned to the equestrian center their parents so loved. From there, they focused their energy on what they knew would have made their parents proud; breeding and training the finest horses around.

Staff Members
Alexis Martingale, 21. Lex co-owns and manages the stable, primarily focusing on the breeding program. With years of experience, thanks to her upbringing she works efficiently in all aspects of the business.
Lea Nickerson, 24. Lea is Lex's older sister, and co-owner of Black Rock Stables. She focuses on the training portion, and leaves the tedious paper work to her younger sister.
Aaron Nickerson, 27. Aaron is Lea's husband, and the stable's primary trainer of young horses. When an untrained horse is brought into the picture, the staff turn to Aaron to turn it into a suitable riding companion.
Michaela Hart, 18. Michaela is simply a college freshman that loves horses, and landed herself a job as a stable hand.
James Tucker, 43. James was a good friend of Alexis and Lea's parents, and a veterinarian whom through the years has stuck by the girls and their horses as their on-site vet.
