Designing made easy!

welcome to the tutorial! here i am going to cover one of the toughest aspects of owning your own sims stables; the stables themselves! so many people struggle to build, but do not fear! this helpful guide is going to take you through the technicals, fun bits, and planning!
so, where do we begin? with the planning, of course! this is the most important part of stable creation, do not skip this step! It begins with choosing the type of stable you are going to own. A small, private yard? or a breeding facility? a showjumping yard? it could be anything you like!
The basic buildings for your stables lot are; the stables, tack room, feed room, restroom, possibly a small kitchen, and a riding arena or two. i didn't include a house nor paddocks in this list, but you may have them if you like! read "stable management" to find out why i didnt include them.
Next, think about the size of the lot! only you will know the size you need, depending on what you want. I would usually suggest a 64x64 lot, if you want all the amenities & more! 40x40 is also a nice size, because you can fit a few stables, building and riding arena nicely without it looking too large and overcrowded. The size of the lot is up to you, we can only advise this part!
BUILDING
There are so many different stable designs out there today! the two main types, are blocks ands barns.
a "block" of stables is a typical english build, and consists of a row, sometimes L shaped or a square, of stables facing outside. It is usually a door with a window next to it, but since sims doesnt come with this stable option, place a normal stall, and cover the stalls with walls, like below. Moveobjects on is needed for this to work properly!

the second, a barn, is an americanised style, consisting of a rectangular building, or even sometimes L shaped, round, and square, containing open stalls, and most of the time houses tack and feed rooms too, and an office.
What type you have depends on how many horses you want. a block is suitable for a few horses, but barns are sufficient as stables can be placed opposite each other using the moveobjects on cheat at close range.
here are examples of stable types!

SPACE ISSUES
This is the part that can get really messed up. You now needs to match the space requirements you need, to the buildings. Here are some handy things to remember when building:
For a BARN, remember that stables should be atleast 4 spaces opposite each other. Using Moveobjects on Will allow you to overlap the 4 spaces highlighted in green when placing a stable. This applies to stables make using walls and gates, too.
For a STABLE BLOCK, Keep the shape EVEN. I usually place tack rooms/feed rooms/ other in the CORNER SPACES of shaped blocks, or at the very end.
Be very careful with open spaces. They can look bland! using gravel, terrain painted flowers, and trees/shrubs/rocks can enhance the stables look. Place them in open areas, as a collective of colours, or use hanging baskets outside the stables. Occupying the space with a picnic bench or two is nice, or even a fancily decorated pond. Or maybe a Gazebo for a bit of shade? The possibilities are actually endless. Just DONT leave empty spaces!
Do you want on lot paddocks? if so, how you space is important. MARK YOUR STABLE AREA, and driveway, and all other exits before building your paddocks/arenas to give you an idea of space/placement.
Below is a list of recommended building tutorials. They will all come in handy at some point! so take a look.
