At the moment, I'm probably in no state of mind to be making any kind of announcement, as I'm a bit perturbed, but it's exactly why I feel the need to publicly address a few things:
For starters, the registry system. Right now, many, if not all, breed registries are closed, inactive, on hiatus, or completely missing. I know many of you are frustrated by this and are anxious to get your horses registered. Gemma and I are working diligently to get the coding and interface done for the new Equus-Sims. I know this poses the question: WHEN? Well, to be honest, it's something that we can only do at the pace that life allows us. Between working, school, and just trying to be a member of the community instead of just an admin, the progress is slow. Gemma and I are 8 hours apart, and while we have HUGE, ambitious ideas for the new site, coding takes loads of designing, work, and testing.
I am pouring my heart into this. We all are. Equus-Sims is my baby and I want the best for it's future and the future of its members. I am doing my best to encompass and address/fix all the problems you guys have proposed here at this forum, as well as things I see that aren't quite working as the community becomes larger. We are so, so new in comparison to the other communities out there for Sims 3.
BUT, we are the only one of our kind! We are unique, and we cannot allow Equus-Sims to crumble from the inside out. I am seeing a lot of drama and cattiness, hatred and bickering, cruel and vicious temper tantrums. You have got to watch your mouth, guys. Seriously, the things you say and the way you behave defines who you are on the internet, as well as how you represent our community. If you support Equus-Sims' community, I am asking you to please stop allowing, causing, and/or spreading malicious behavior throughout the forum, emails, etc.
I love you guys. I want to see us thrive and move forward. I know not a lot of changes or improvements have been made here at this forum in a long time, but this is because since we've had to move to a new domain host that allows PHP, there's no sense in making substantial changes here, since we're going to have to move everything when we open the new site/forum anyway. It's a progress. I know you guys are running short of patience, but I can promise that I'm doing what I can to get it done!
Anyway, I guess I'm rambling at this point. If you have any polite questions, feel free to ask here. I can't tell you too much about the new site because I don't want to give away our surprises, but I'll answer what I can.
