Over at SNW we have one Arab and one Arab-Teke training for cross country. The Arab-Teke is none other than SDE Islah! Sold to us by Silverdragon Estates we want to say a giant thank you!
OOC/I'm still making tweaks and such to the cross country training grounds. It's all new to me! I hope the steps are okay, I'm not a hundred percent sure it's possible to make them totally realistic with the terrain tool.
Constructive suggestions are welcome! Most of this, including the group aspect is based off a youtube vid I saw. And uhh.. ignore the fact that Bridget isn't wearing a helmet, uh oops. ./
Our experienced rider, Bridget Keets, is doing some training today. She's on our likewise experienced stallion, SNW Solar Collision, but everyone calls him Redman. He's a sweetheart and does fine around mares. He's a great teacher. We have Bridget and Redman going first with the two beginners following. Doing so gives the following horses a better sense of security and confidence. From time to time Bridget will stop and just watch and of course teach.
One of our students today is Robin Nevare, who normally does dressage but wanted to expand his riding repertoire, he's on BUS Bright Starlet. Lucky miss Claire Sterling is on our brand new beauty, SDE Islah. She's brand new to cross country but has a little experience with show jumping.
Enthusiasm is always welcome.
Islah jumping, Redman down the field over the last jump and Starlet coming around from her turn for another one.
Islah taking the cross rails like a pro!
Redman going over another jump
Stairs time! Redman leading the way, Starlet taking her first leap and Islah rounding the corner!
Starlet and Redman up top
Islah going over the second step! She's doing so good. Claire's form will need some practice.
Redman showing Starlet that going downhill is easier than those steps.
Bridget correcting form and giving encouragement.
Claire and Islah heading for more jumps
At the end of the lesson Bridget had them just very quickly put a lead rope on their bridles just to show the horses the water. Redman walked all the way in, just to be sassy. The little river was dug just long enough for space for both a big jump for experienced riders and a bit down the terrain is gentler for new jumpers to both splash around, ride through or jump.
They will have another lesson sometime just for water work. Robin is going to have to get over that
yes, his boots
are going to get wet.
