for more information on the horses being sold. the little silver bay
Gunnar (lot 1-12-12) is a flaxen chestnut stallion from herd one.
he is expected to be about fifteen years old. his only known
offspring is the silver bay sabino filly out of the bay sabino mare.
Poppy (lot 2-12-12) is a bay mare from herd one. she is
expected to be about four years old. Poppy here is just a bit
lazy. once she gets going, though, you better watch out, because
she's great over fences! Poppy, or rather Genie, is somewhat of
an escape artist (hence her nickname), but is still sweet around
the mares in her pasture. she would make an excellent addition
to a lesson barn once she's fully trained.
Lola (lot 3-12-12) is a bay sabino mare from herd one. she is
expected to be about four as well. her only known offspring is
the silver bay sabino filly by the flaxen chestnut stallion. Lola is,
from what we know, third-in-command in the current pasture
rankings. she doesn't take flack from anyone, and stands up for
herself and her foal. when we rounded her herd up, she was
pregnant with a filly that would eventually be born at our facilities.
she's been a great mother to her little filly so far, and does well
with other horses. she is very daring, and will steal food out of
our hands if we offer it to her now. she has a bright future ahead
of her, and we'd love to see her go to a loving competition or
lesson home.
Elsie (lot 4-12-12) is a chestnut mare from herd one. she is
expected to be about eleven years old. Elsie is a very shy mare
who darts into the farthest corner she can whenever we walk by
her pasture. she was pretty far down on the totem pole in her
herd from what we can tell, and has been separated from the
main group of mares for her own safety. she would make a
great advanced lesson horse once she's fully trained.
Clyde (lot 5-12-12) is a bay stallion with stunning blue eyes from
herd two. he is expected to be about six years old. his only
known offspring is a bay filly out of the grey mare. Clyde is
extremely aggressive. he was purposefully the first horse off the
trailer and the last horse on. he's really only happy with the mare
that he came in with, Bonnie. we haven't tried any gentling or
training with him, simply because his behavior is dangerous
and an insurance liability. he will only go to a home experienced
in handling dangerously aggressive horses, or he will be
introduced to a herd of mares as a gelding.
Bonnie (lot 6-12-12) is a grey mare from herd two. she is
expected to be about ten years old. Bonnie, well, is quite the little
lady! she's pretty quiet and submissive with the other mares
that she's bonded with, but is quite playful. she is still very weary
of us humans, and we haven't been able to work with her much.
her only known offspring is the bay filly by the bay stallion.
Magic (lot 7-12-12) is a black bachelor stallion. he is expected to
be about ten years old. Magic is the most nervous horse out of
this group of sales. he's shy and nervous, but extremely fast. he
is quite smart as well, though. his nerves and shyness probably
explain why he was captured as a bachelor at around the age of
ten, which is pretty rare.
Tessa (lot 8-12-12) is a chestnut mare from our previous round
up herd. she is expected to be about seven years old. her only
known offspring is a red roan colt out of the previous blue roan
stallion. Tessa came in with our first-ever round up, and after
her two years here at the facility, she's really become quite the
friendly little girl. she is halter trained, and like her colt, has been
worked in the round pen with and without tack. she's been
ridden a couple of times without much fuss pretty recently. she
will need an advanced rider to complete her training, and we
would love to see her go to a competing home.
Lilah (lot 10-12-12) is a bay yearling filly by the bay stallion and
out of the grey mare from herd two. as soon as we got her in, we
starting working with Lilah away from her herd. she wasn't too
happy about it at first, but we've gone great lengths with her.
she's far from being ridden in both age and demeanor, but we
expect her to become a great mount for a lovely owner once
she's trained.
Mac (lot 11-12-12) is a two year old red roan colt by the previous
blue roan stallion and out of the chestnut mare (lot 8-12-12).
we've been working with Mac since he was born at our facility
two years ago. I was really debating on keeping him, as he was
bottle fed after a month with his mom, and raised by our staff at
the wild horse facility. he is now halter trained, and has been
worked in a round pen with and without a saddle. he's gentle
and sweet, but he is still a young horse, and should be handled
as such. he will only go to a perfectly ideal home, if sold at all,
because we are so attached to him.
