Thank you Lidija and Annabel! Hopefully Cristel wants a pony, because that's what I'm planning to buy her when she gets a bit older...

Thank you! Though I'm kind of annoyed by how I can't make all the tails similar but they almost look like they're done by different people. On other hand, I don't have tablet or even a mouse – I draw with the touchpad of my laptop, so I shouldn't expect anything superb

I tried to figure out a good way to tell the news I have, but this morning I realized there isn't one. Sunday night, everyone had already gone to bed. Tove had installed a baby monitor in the stables and she woke up at 2 a.m. after hearing some loud noises and whinnying in the stables. Vappu had gone into labor, so Tove called our vet Maddy. Maddy came to check if something was wrong, but she came to the conclusion that they should wait. Half past four Tove called me and told Vappu had collapsed almost violently and she was sweating and in pain. I rushed there, even though I was mostly just on the way. The first foal was stuck, only the left hind leg was out. We tried our best to help the foal out, but after three hours the situation there wasn't much progress and Vappu was exhausted. 8 a.m. the second foal was born. Somehow Maddy managed to get her out as the first foal was still stuck. Thirty minutes later we finally managed to pull the first foal out as well, but hurt her leg as we did it. She was barely alive, not having the strength to open her eyes or move yet. If Tove hadn't managed to bottle feed her, she would have died. After giving birth to two beautiful fillies Vappu was too fatigued and in pain to eat or drink not to mention getting up anymore. She just lied there eyes almost shut, barely breathing. We had one everything to help her – there was only one thing that could be done. Asking Maddy to put her to sleep was the saddest thing I've ever had to do. She was one of the best horses I've had. The twin fillies without their mommy. We started calling them Vilma and Muisto (which means memory). Foal number one, Vilma, in the front and Muisto behind her. Today was the first day the fillies saw the daylight. Vilma has difficulties standing up and moving around because of her leg. She lies down most of the time, which won't give her the muscle strength she needs. Venla has been very helpful. Omppu rejected the fillies, probably because they weren't hers and she has only had colts, but Venla's mother instinct worked and she took both under her protection.

Sad to hear. Vappu was very beautiful mare, but atleast you have these little memories of her (the fillies).

Oh, so sad. But at least you have two very beautiful fillies from Vappu, and Muisto looks very, very beautiful (of course Vilma is also beautiful little girl).
