I wouldn't want any of my adult Sims riding anything that small, not even a small adult so that wouldnt be a problem for me. Children yes, but I would be using poses anyway. I can't even imagine a sim on a tiny horse being regular size!

I may have lied. 11 hh is still VERY slightly resizing. But otherwise it looks pretty realistic (ignoring the bridle, lack of tack, etc--I aged this poor guy up for testing so I just left whatever he randomly generated). This is at about 9hh: On the plus side, the sinking animation issues are mostly minimized for horses at around 9-11hh. Once you start getting mini size is when you start the serious sinking.

I wouldn't have my minis being ridden anyway, release as is Work on the animation clipping/sinking as best you can. Ponies under 9hh are realistically ridden anyway. Not to mention I'm dying for my minis to not look like sausage dog

Not to mention I'm dying for my minis to not look like sausage dog Well, the problems with the animations, from what I've seen, is that they rely on ROOT_bind as a sort of marker for height. Unfortunately, ROOT_bind refuses to offset. Or scale. Or do just about anything but sit up in the air like a jerk. Which results in this: Annoyingly, some poses work flawlessly while others sink. Possibly another problem with ROOT_bind, or maybe just the entire thing hating me at this point, but OMSPs and the poseplayer add-on are your friends. Going to finish tweaking the foals tonight, save a copy of that if all is working, then work on the forward offset (leading position, drinking, eating, etc) and see if I can get it to cooperate without destroying this time. Once I release it, any of you who have been trying to learn sliders can feel free to tweak with the settings and let me know what you find out. I'm by no means an expert, but I haven't tried all of the slot joints. Some of them seem to do nothing, some of them control animation targets, and I'm sure somewhere there's one or ten that fixes all of these problems. I do plan to explore and poke around, I just didn't want all of you to have to wait. Are all you mini breeders satisfied with the lack of hot-dog-ness? The back slider is mostly done, too, to help get rid of the extra, I just need to do the foals and tweak rider resizing again (it wants to squish them up horizontally).

I'm quite amazed that 'ordinary' people can do things like this. In game development they have teams for every aspect of the game, if one person has a problem, another takes over. Nathan; I'm really, really impressed. Great Job

Can you make me a Welsh Pony ? its complicated.. I don't think Nathan is making ponies for anyone. He's just making the slider. There are plenty of ponies available for sale though now that the beta is released.

Nathan; I'm really, really impressed. Great Job My OH is a game developer so I am really familiar with how the games industry (in fact, the computing industry as a whole since I'm Web student) works.. ..And I tend to find that big companies with lots of teams make some brilliant games (TS3 for example!) but they also seem to leave out a lot (ponies for example!) You'd be surprised how good a "normal" person can be at making a brilliantly polished finished project. Teams get lazy and rely on other people, one person with an idea and some initiative always gives better results, IMO. TL;DR: Nathan you've done a fabulous job and we're all proud and grateful! Thank you for your determination and superior knowledge

Thanks, guys! Honestly, you've all been kind of like my personal "team," so I can't take ALL the credit. While I'm doing all the value tweaking, you're all giving me tons of awesome feedback on what is and isn't working in your games. The amount of testing that I would have had to do to even find all these issues would have taken weeks. All I'm doing is putting some numbers in a generator and seeing what happens. As far as me making anyone ponies, I haven't even had the time to make myself one. The ponies you see are my Irish Sport Horses and Thoroughbreds being squashed to different sizes for testing purposes. I haven't loaded up my actual game in forever, just my testing lot on Equestria. There is a ton of awesome little ponies running around for sale, though! And any of those that look a little too "hot-dog" will fix themselves when the final slider is released.

I wonder how we'll determine the horse's height? Like, if we decide to sell it. We'll have to have a referrance on the scale or something. EX: 1/4 of the scale = 12hh, 1/2 14hh full scale 18hh etc... I have a feeling what someone considers 12hh will be someone elses 14hh... we need to think of a system to gauge the height. lol I'm having so much fun with this

I used Granthes' OMSP (which measures in m, easily converted to hands, 1 hh is about 10 cm) to measure height and it seems pretty reliable. I'll post a picture of it when I update the OP--I'm pulling the download right now and getting ready to upload the final version!
ETA: the bottom of the scale should be ~60cm (small mini) and the top of the scale should be ~20.2 hh (pretty much the tallest horses to ever live).
