Does anybody else notice a sort of..speckly discoloration that occurs on their horse's coat when they have any of the EA saddle pads on? Hmm. What kind of discoloration? I notice the reddish spots on dark grey horses (like Allie up there) regardless of what pads they're wearing, but it maybe gets a little worse with a pad on? I'll use her to take some test shots since they show up really well on her coat. EDIT: From testing, it seems to be related to the saddle not the pad, though there's a little speckling without anything on at all.

But anyway, the pad you've created is sooo nice Was hard work right? Saddle pads are actually quite simple, in terms of CC. I'm amazed no one's made this yet, as it only took me the better part of one day to do, and most of that was tweaking shadows. Lol. It's not perfect by any means, but I know I personally just wanted ANY contour pad for all the Hunter shows going on, and I'm sure someone will release a better one eventually. ETA because I'm rude: Thanks for the compliment on the pad!

Interesting.. *taps chin* To me it seems like a problem with one of the images within the saddle's file. Did you test all saddles, or only that english one? I cannot say, since I tend to use the same saddle as in your picture, whether or not I remember having them with other saddles.. I will have to look into the files when I return from vacation, unless you beat me to it of course, which i'm totally ok with ! lol! Thanks for the help Edit: I forgot to mention, I see the reddish spots on palominos and blacks (silvery/lighter), most notably T_T

I have the forward-flap already cloned to use in making pads, so I'll take a peek at the files later. Hopefully it's a simple solution.

When I told Rachel about the issue, she said it sounded like a problem with the mask, but I'm the sort of person who has to check everything. I would suggest testing ALL saddles. If you find one that doesnt have it, you can compare its image files to the defective ones. This is what we did with the "shine fix" tails! I'll let you know if I get into game before you do!

Did a quick test of all the saddles and it's definitely there for all of them. I also peeked at the image files and checked every channel on the mask, but nothing jumped out at me as odd. I'm hardly an expert, though, so maybe you or Rachel will see something I don't. EDIT: Ahh, wait! It actually seems to be linked to breast collars as well, including CC ones. I didn't even think about the fact that there was one on Allie while testing, but I removed the saddle and added one, and viola, speckling! Oy vey. It still shows up with saddle only and with breast collar only. No speckling with bridle only. EDIT2: Here, have another image dump. LOL. I'll let you guys see if you can work this out. pad/bridle only (baseline, no speckling): pad, bridle, breast collar: bridle, saddle:

As Christina knows, I HATE changing texture maps so that's why I avoided making saddle pads. I work much better with 3d images than 2d. And that's why there are multiple CC creators

And that's why there are multiple CC creators I've been working with Photoshop for way too many years to count, so editing any of those files is super easy for me. I guess that's why I feel like they're not hard at all. Lol. Most of what I struggled with was learning how the files worked together. I want to learn to do basic meshing eventually, but for now there's a lot of "easy" things that I can do with image files while you guys be all amazing with your 3d skills.

True. I'm not very good at photo editing. Never really took time to learn how.
Also will you be making a contour pad to fit the other English saddle? I like using that one in Hunter-specific shows since it looks more like an All-Purpose saddle.

I considered it, but asking around seemed like no one used that one for jumping. I guess I'll put it back on the WIP. LOL. It's not hard to do, so I'll see if I can find time to whip one up in the next week or so.
