actully friesians can be bay, grey and chestnut aswell. the chestnut ones are in some forums called Fox or Foxy friesians. they are rare but they do exist. Before the 20th century, Friesians used to be all colours but over the years, the registry chose to select for only black coats.and the bay and grey ones are not accepted in the FHANA. so yea they can be chestnut not only just black. like this beautiful stallion redfriesianstallion.com/

Because of the genetics within the friesian breed, it is possible to get a chesnut friesian, and they are accepted, but they can't get.. showed within the registre :3! But OH! How lovely they are 8o! I have three friesians at my stables too xD! But no chesnuts, maybe I'll use him sometime, if you have plans on putting him up for breeding? !

I cannot find a single purebred bay or gray friesian. The genes that cause bay and gray are dominant so very easy to breed out; they can't just pop up like chestnuts. Any bay or gray purebreds that exist would be from a long line of grade horses by now.. As for this: Friesians are not chesnut e.e,but never mind, beautiful horses Check these out: Obizuth - also known as 'Lucy'Fire MagicIron ManIron Man's dam MollyRenoirRenoir's dam
