update, game crashed, so lost every foal. BUT yasmin still had 3 the 2nd time around, everyone else only 1 each. and PICS
Yasmin we knew was to have twins, both were healthy she was doing fine, Vets and I talked over pinching one, but since all 3 were doing well, we decided to let her have her twins. What we didnt realize is there was a 3rd hiding behind her sisters, that the ultrasound never picked up. Luckily since we knew she was having twins she has spent most of her pregnancy over at the Vet Complex in the ICU foaling barn.
4am the assistant monitoring yasmin made a call to the vet, woke him up and got him there to assist and keep mom and babies healthy. after the 2nd was born he noticed Yasmin still in what appeared to be distress. A THIRD foal!
It took some coaxing to her back up on her feet, but after an hour she was finally ready, exausted, a bit dehydrated but overall in far better condition than we would have thought.
The Fillies were a bit slow in standing up, they were so very small, but after an initial vet check, were pronounced healthy, very tiny but healthy! Yasmin decided to check on her new babies while the vet did another exam on her, and looked her over.
All 3 foals are up and standing, very very wobbly but standing. They will stay in the ICU for the forseeable future to make sure they survive.
Yasmin greets her babies
It was very touch and go with them the first few weeks, but they are little troopers all of them, and with the great vet team at the complex all 3 and mom have made it through.
3 months later she is outside with them, in a small pen at home that was built for them.
