For people that can use photoshop "eaten" reins shouldn't cause a problem as most of us probably play without reins completely. But to others it can be a problem. Is there a way you could fix it?

Well I noticed at another angle the withers seems to have been broadened in the area ((possibly as a result of shifting joints up)) so I'm thinking of trying to see how to 'narrow' the area without messing everything else up which should *fingers crossed* fix the issue. Other then eaten reins does the slider look 'good' or should I be looking at adding more bones in?

Well, I am no expert but this looks good to me! Narrower would probably be better. I have some Akhal-Tekes that could definitely use this instead of lowering their back so much to make the withers look prominent like they do in the breed.

Hmm. Anyone know what bone the bottom of the reins are jointed to? Maybe moving that up a bit would fix it without distorting anything too much.

Honestly I have no idea, only thing I can think is 'spine 5' which is the one that drops down to counter spine 4 moving up

I don't think it's a spine joint--I didn't notice any distortion when screwing with my back slider. Then, I don't have my desktop with me right now to test.

Spine5 and BackNeck0 are the two that control the section of the reins, maybe editing them will help?
Edit: just tested it in Milkshape (so far it has been right for me), Spine5 controls that whole section of the reins and BackNeck0 alter the tip (the part where the buckle would be on real reins). I'd say, since you are already using Spine5, editing BackNeck0 would do the trick as it should pull up the rest.

Thanks for this research - it should actually be an easy fix then that. Spine 5 is the one that I've moved down to stop the legs floating. So I'm going to try the 'easy' route first of reversing spine 4 and spine 5's role.
I'm also going to 'narrow' spine 5 at the top to try and make a nicer wither shape

I've attached a pic with a few different joint labeled, it's a bit messy because I was doing it in a rush a while back for my rug. Not all joints are listed but hopefully it will help you somewhat. Attachments:

Great slider, can't wait to see it released. Although the reins thing is a tiny bit annoying, it really isn't all that bad.
